This class teaches basic mosaic techniques using some standard mosaic materials—glass tile, china, stained glass, and ceramic tile—to complete three small projects. Materials supplied, supply list provided with registration.

You will leave this workshop with 3 different projects--a trivet, a stepping stone, and a small glass on glass mosaic--each complete.  

This class is suitable for beginners to intermediate level mosaic artists. Ages 12 and up, students 10-12 with accompanying parent who is also taking the class.

Wednesday we will work with glass tile and water-based glues to create a trivet. Thursday we will work with ceramics and cement-based adhesives to mosaic a stepping stone and work with stained glass and solvent-based adhesives to create a "glass on glass" piece. Then on Friday we will grout all your pieces.

Cost: $162 per person (non-refundable deposit of $75 due to reserve spot, balance due by day of workshop) Minimum 6 people Maximum 12. Deadline to register 7/25

Instructor Bio: Juanita Canzoneri is a self-taught mosaic artist, learning through trial-and-error and by tapping into the rich vein of artistic generosity in books, online, and through personal relationships with other artists. Juanita has taught at Bemis School of Art, and other locations around Colorado Springs and Denver

 2021 marks her 20th year in mosaics. She has had sold her work in Commonwheel Artists Co-op in Manitou Springs, CO. Since 2019 her main creative focus has been as the owner of Kismet Mosaic (kismetmosaic.com).
