Thanks for looking into our business. If you have any questions that aren't addressed here, please email us at info@kismetmosaic.com.   What do you do in here? We sell mosaic art supplies--glass and ceramic tile, wooden bases, and glue in addition to other miscellaneous supplies. Most of our business is online. We ship throughout the US.   Do you offer classes? Not at this time. However we do sell kits that are beginner friendly and don't require any tools.    Do you have beads? No. Our tile does not have any holes for stringing.

Glues and Adhesives: A Sticky Subject

There are 3 main types of glues/adhesives used in mosaics. None is inherently better than the others; they all may be used depending upon the other materials used in the mosaic process and the levels of toxicity and/or ease of use required. They are: Water-based, Solvent-based, Cement-based   Water-based Adheres as the water in the adhesive mixture evaporates. These glues may contain various materials to enhance the durability of the bond. Good for gluing almost anything (glass, ceramic, etc.)  to a porous substance (wood, plaster, terra cotta, unglazed ceramic, some stone etc.). You need to have the 5 following things to start with: something to glue your tiles/tesserae onto (a base), tiles/tesserae (or cut tiles), glue that will work with both your tiles and your base, something to cut your tiles into tesserae with, and grout Everything else is just variations on that theme.
