Kismet Mosaic offers general art and a variety of mosaic classes/workshops in our Colorado Springs location.


These classes will be for anyone from the beginner/crafter to advanced mosaic artists.

We are even planning to bring in outstanding world-class mosaic artists!

Mosaic Design Workshop
This weekend workshop will give you a taste of the ancient art of mosaics as you create your own work of art from start to finish. You’ll work with a variety of mosaic glass, learn about rules of design with specific emphasis on mosaics, use new tools, and learn to grout. Materials supplied, supply list provided with registration.

Mosaic Materials Workshop

Colored pencils can be used for creating mosaic design sketches or playing with color palettes, as well as creating designs on mosaic pieces to set under translucent glass. This workshop will introduce ways to work with these tools.

All supplies provided but you’re welcome to bring any personal colored pencils and sketchbooks.

Collage—Beginner level

Collage can be used on its own as an artform as well as incorporated into mosaic work under clear and translucent glass. All supplies needed will be provided but you’re welcome to bring along paper elements you’d like to incorporate into your project.

Acrylic Paints—Beginner level

Water-based acrylic paints have a wide variety of uses. This workshop will explore some of the more non-traditional options. Supplies will be provided but you’re welcome to bring along your favorite paintbrushes and/or paint colors.

 

Tempered Glass Mosaic—Introduction

Using some of the techniques in the earlier workshops this month you can create a custom base for a tempered glass mosaic project. By layering elements and working with clear, translucent, and opaque glass you can create unique art pieces.

All supplies needed will be supplied but you are welcome to bring any elements you’d like to add into your work.

Grouting your project will not be part of this class. Additional time can be arranged during the class session for this step.
